(09/17/26) BATON ROUGE, La. — Growing blueberries and citrus fruit and caring for house plants will be the two topics offered by the East Baton Rouge Parish Master Gardeners at the Greenwell Springs Library, 11300 Greenwell Springs Road, Oct. 8.

Advanced Master Gardener Leo Broders will share the secrets to mastering blueberries, one of the healthiest foods you can eat.

In addition, Broders will discuss which types of citrus to grow, whether it be satsumas, oranges, lemons, grapefruit or limes. Learn which ones are more adaptable to our climate and what to do to be successful at growing them. Broders has many years of experience growing these, and he will give some great pointers to encourage your success as well.

Look at your house plants. Do they look healthy, or do they need help? Master Gardener Kelly Hebert will be there to show you how to make your house plants thrive. She will share some tips on which ones are easier to grow, where to place them in your home, how often to water and much more.

The programs begin at 6:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public.
