(09/25/26) BATON ROUGE, La — The East Baton Rouge Master Gardeners will present the last of their library series for this year, offering two timely topics — Composting and Cool-Season Flowers, on Oct. 22, at the Main Library at 7711 Goodwood Blvd.

Would you like to have free fertilizer? Are the leaves falling from your trees? Master Gardener Bob Dillemuth will take you through a variety of ways you can take what might be considered trash and make it into valuable compost that your plants will love. There are a variety of ways to do this, and there are some tricks to making material decompose faster so your plants will enjoy it sooner. It helps the environment as well.

It is time to get those fall plants in your gardens. Which ones will do the best? Master Gardener Bridget Kaigler will be on hand to give you a lot of wonderful suggestions on plants that will thrive in your yard until it’s time to plant your spring garden. She may even mention some that will continue on for years to come.

The programs will begin at 6:30 p.m. They are free and open to the public.
