4-H University is the premier 4-H event of the year for 4-H members currently in the 8th-12th grade. This statewide event is both an educational and fun learning experience. The event is held in Baton Rouge on the Louisiana State University campus in mid-June of each year. Approximately 2,000 4-H club members, staff, and adult leaders from throughout the state attend this event.
These nearly 1,600-1,800 young people from across the state participate in the 4-H University events on the LSU campus each June, which includes competition for trips and prizes, educational activities, as well as the election of state 4 H officers and district representatives.
The gathering is one of the highlights for 4-H members in Louisiana. 4-H is the youth development program of the nation’s land-grant university system and is a dynamic effort designed to help young people and their families improve their quality of life.
