Junior Leader Meeting

• When: October 13 at 6:00 PM
• Where: Rosedale Library
• Who: Youth in grades 7-12

Details: No preregistration needed ‒ just show up, bring a friend, and enjoy some snacks. This club meets monthly to plan service projects that better our community. During this meeting, we will officially begin implementing our Junior Leader Points System, which will recognize participation, leadership, service, and involvement throughout the year. New members are always welcome!

Looking Ahead: In November, Junior Leaders will take part in a community service project, providing an opportunity to give back to Jefferson Parish while earning points through the new system.

Livestock Meeting

• When: October 14^th and November 11^th at 5:30 PM
• Where: Belle Chasse Library
• Who: All 4-H members in grades 4-12
• What: Bring your chickens and rabbits if you have them. We will cover how to care for your animals and proper handling techniques during livestock shows. Plus, you’ll get information on Premier Exhibitor testing and Showmanship contests.

Archery Practice

• When: October 24^th and November 21^st at 9:00 AM
• Where: Joe Brown Park
• Who: All 4-H members in grades 4-12
• What: No prior experience needed. Don’t have your own equipment? That’s okay – equipment will be provided for those who need it.

Challenge Camp (Overnight Camping Experience)

• When: November 3-4, 2026
• Who: 7th & 8th graders
• Where: Lion King Ministries, Amite, LA
• Cost: $60 (including T-shirt, meals, and transportation from our Jefferson Parish office.)
• What: Join 7th & 8th graders from parishes throughout the Southeast Region for team challenges, leadership-building activities, s’mores making, and more. Transportation and school excuses will be provided.

Virtual Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Show off your creativity by participating in our Virtual Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

Decorate a pumpkin using any theme, colors, or materials you choose. Paint it, carve it, accessorize it, or create a completely unique design.

Submit a photo of your decorated pumpkin by October 27, 2026. Please email your photo to [email protected] and [email protected]

Southeast Region Livestock Clinic

• When: November 21^st , 2026 from 10am-2:00pm
• Who: open to livestock exhibitors in our region of ALL species.
• Where: Florida Parishes Arena in Amite, LA
• Cost: Free and includes a meal
• What: Livestock Clinic for a day of learning, hands-on activities, and fun. Participants will gain valuable showmanship tips and tricks from experienced livestock leaders and exhibitors to help improve their skills in the show ring.

Attendees will rotate through a variety of hands-on livestock activity stations, where they will practice techniques, build confidence, and learn what it takes to become a successful showman. Whether you're new to showing livestock or looking to sharpen your skills, this clinic has something for everyone.
